Uploading photos to your WordPress site

In Photoshop:

1. In photoshop under “Image Size” Reduce the “Pixel Dimensions” to 1024 for the largest dimension of your image – and click “Ok”
2. Under “File” elect “Save for Web” then select “JPEG High” and click “Save”

2a. in top of popup window add “sized” to your file name.
2b. Select where you want the file saved and click “Save”

In WordPress:

3. Upload your “sized” images to WordPRess
3a. Insert image as “Medium size” – this option is in lower right corner when an image has been selected to be inserted.
3b. Once an image is already uploaded click on edit symbol on the image and change the setting to medium

Homepage Slideshow Images

In Photoshop
1. Resize your photo files to 900 x 550 pixels – crop as necessary
2. Save for Web  – JPEG High quality

In WordPress Photographer Theme
For each photo to appear in the slideshow
1. Create a new Post – Title it the name of your photo
2. Turn off Comments and Ping Backs
3. Type a description of your photo in the Post
4. Set Featured Image – Upload a sized slider photo
5. Add New Category – called “slider”
6. Under “Appearance” under “Theme Options” under “Homepage”
Set “Featured Slideshow Category” to “slider”
Set “featured Slideshow Images To Display” to 12
Set “Slideshow Transition Interval” to 4 seconds or slower
“Save Settings”

Creating galleries using WordPress Photographer Theme

1. Create a new post – title the post the title of your galleries
2. Insert your photos in the post – use either “Medium” or “Large” image size
3. Add captions under each photo by typing under them in the post
4. Insert a Featured Image – it should be different from the inserted images
5. Select the Category “galleries” – create new category “gallery” when creating your 1st gallery
6. Above the 1st inserted photo type the caption for the “Featured Image” photo
7. Publish your post
8. Under “Appearance”  under “Theme Options” Under “Portfolios”  set:
Three Column Portfolio Template Category – galleries
Three Column Portfolio Posts Displayed – 12 or more
Two Column Portfolio Template Category – galleries
Two Column Portfolio Posts Displayed – 12 or more
One Column Portfolio Template Category – galleries
One Column Portfolio Posts To Display – 12 or more
Choose Portfolio Category Columns – 3 clump Layout

Adding a galleries page to WordPress Photographer Theme

1. Create a new page – title the page galleries
2. Under “Page Attributes”  under “Template” select Portfolio three column (or one or two column)
3. Publish your page

Adding a slideshow to a WordPress page or post

In Photoshop
1. Save your photos for Web  – JPEG High quality

In WordPress Photographer Theme
1. Create a new page or post  – Title it the name of your slideshow
2. Turn off Comments and Ping Backs
3. Type a description of your slideshow in the Post
4. Attach some images to the post/page using the Add Image button. Just upload them don’t insert them inside your post/page content.
5. Under “Page Attributes” set “Template” to “Slideshow”
6. Publish and view your post/page.
