  1. Outdoor Adventures Poem
Our outdoor adventures class began with a hike in the woods,
Where we climbed through the mountains within Marymount’s neighborhood.
We hiked to the Potomac river,
the journey was long but the sight made us shiver.
The untouched nature was very pretty,
We were thankful to get away from the busy city.
Our next hike began with a trip to the zoo,
We saw many animals and a beautiful view.
    Elephants, tigers, zebras, and more,
You could hear the sounds of the animals roar.
The baby guerilla was the cutest part,
The young animal was energetic and smart.
Arlington Cemetery was out next stop,
We honored those who fought and worked to the top,
We saw where the unknown soldier was respected,
We could see how it was honored and protected.
We proceeded to hike Roosevelt Island,
Where we crossed island bridge and continue our plan.
Taking pictures of the trees and sun,
We captured our photos and had our fun.
    At the Great Falls hike,
We saw a lot of trees and paths that looked alike.
The waterfalls and rapids were a beautiful sight to see,
I think the whole class could agree.
Later, we went to the Botanic Gardens located in the city,
It was full of flowers and plants that were so pretty.
In the garden there was different sections,
    That all followed a direction.
    Leading us through,
Showing all that nature that grew.

  5. Heres hows take a lovely picture
    Hold your camera up
    Turn it to the side
    Focus and shoot

    Rule of thirds
The rule of thirds is a term have you heard?
If you haven’t then I can tell you about the word
    Turn your camera landscape
Be quick and don’t let your subject escape
Make sure the photo is divided
Place your subject to the side and don’t hide it

    Close-ups
Some things are better up close
When you zoom in you can get the most
    The colors are vibrant
    There is no denying it
It shows us the tiny details of the world
We take pictures even when the weather is cold
With close up, you can open a whole new world

    Unusual camera angle
Find the best spots, people don’t see
Get the best shot, you’ll jump with glee
Look from all angles, and you’ll be free
To get the best view, go on an adventure
With all this freedom, you’ll dare to venture

  7. Nature
Nothing like nature to make you feel better
Cold air, falling leaves and a beautiful sunset
A walk in the forest will leave you happier
And tell you to not give up hope just yet
A moment with mother nature is the best
It will take life’s pain away for you to rest
The mind expands and creation will rise
At one with the environment will turn a fool wise
Your physical body will have a glowing aura
Health is the key to success
Go out into the wild and do your best to pry
Fresh chills take away the stress
So, go outside, take a deep breath
    And revive inspiration’s death
There is a reason we call her Mother Earth
It is what brought about humanity’s birth

  9. Were your pictures kinda of blurry? Were they looking kinda of flurry? Did you use the rule of 3rds? Or were you looking at the birds? Did you fall down the hill? Did you take a little spill? Did you enjoy the hike? Did your shoes get wet? Did you get to pet a pet? Did you use light and dark? Did you get lost at a park? Did you Uber your way home? Or get lost on the rome? Did you enjoy the hike? Did you drop your phone? Did you see a traffic cone? Did you talk to Erediljon? Did you see turtles in a pond? Did you sneak in in the metro? Did you dress kinda retro? Did you enjoy the hike?

Every wednesday I come to class
Wondering if this hike can possibly be better than the last
If adventure is what you seek
Then go out and hike every other week
You won’t be disappointed with what you find
It will leave all of your stress behind
Take a few photos to capture the time
The views will leave you breathless just like a mime
Rivers and sun rays might be what you see
Having a great time out in the breeze
Grab a few friends and walk every trail
I swear none of your moments will ever be stale
Filling your hearts with nothing but glee
Standing on hills feeling nothing but free
Flowers and trees always in sight
Hikings so fun even at night
    Stars in the air
    A big moon with glare
Shining enough you won’t have to care
We know now that hiking is fun
So please share this pleasure with everyone
