Great Falls Hike

When I took this picture I felt very small, like a little spec. The view was beautiful.

“Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe:
All mimsy were the borogoves,
      And the mome raths outgrabe…

…”Beware the Jabberwock, my son!
The jaws that bite, the claws that catch!
Beware the Jubjub bird, and shun
      The frumious Bandersnatch”…

…He took his vorpal sword in hand;
Long time the manxome foe he sought—
So rested he by the Tumtum tree
      And stood awhile in thought…

…And, as in uffish thought he stood,
The Jabberwock, with eyes of flame,
Came whiffling through the tulgey wood,
      And burbled as it came…

…One, two! One, two! And through and through
      The vorpal blade went snicker-snack!
He left it dead, and with its head
      He went galumphing back…

…“And hast thou slain the Jabberwock?
Come to my arms, my beamish boy!
O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!”
      He chortled in his joy…

Job 2:9-10 – “Then his (Job) wife said to him, ‘Do you still hold fast to your integrity?  Curse God and die!’  But he said to her, ‘You speak as one of the foolish women would speak.  Shall we receive good from God, and shall we not receive evil?’  In all of this Job did not sin with his lips.”

(I didn’t get any pictures from the visitor center but I did learn a couple facts).

  • Water run off happens when water flows down the side of a slope and takes off small parts of it. After some time it erodes the surface.
  • Rock climbers frequent the cliffs of great falls.
  • Great falls hosts many trails with hiking, biking and equestrian options.
