  1. Jim Parks was an ex-slave who worked at the Arlington Estate which is now parts of the grounds of the Arlington Cemetery. He was buried at the Arlington Cemetery due to his immense contributions towards the cemetery as he was responsible for providing an accurate account on how the Arlington House looked like to help in its restoration. He also worked at the cemetery as a grave digger. When he died he was buried with full military honors.
