Definition of Financial Aid

Financial Aid

Financial aid is any grant, scholarship, loan, or paid employment offered for the specific purpose of helping a student meet educationally related expenses. All financial aid, except for Federal College Work Study, may be credited towards direct education expenses. The Office of Financial Aid provides financial counseling, coordinates financial aid awards, and makes aid application and program information to all students. Please note that in addition to financial aid, there are several potential tuition discounts for special categories of students – please see the link below. Also, all Virginia students should be sure to apply for the VA TAG grant. The application can be found here: Virginia Tuition Grant.
