Because this is a class in visual analysis, I like presentations to be image based, limiting the number of words on slides to 10 maximum, with slides set to run at automatic 20 second intervals. This creates an […]

    Christos,
This is a great point: “‘Live’ life narrative differs from written or illustrated memoirs. Her making eye contact with the audience proves that the therapy is going well, and maybe the stand-comedy session was the next step.” Notaro’s comedy set is notable because she’s using it as a type of therapy as these tragedies and challenges…[Read more]

    Lujain,
I think either of your options 2 & 3 would be great to look at for a final project. I’d steer away from Carson’s since most political/star autobiographies are ghost written, which makes them difficult to hold up under the scrutiny of literary study. Malala’s memoir, on the other hand, ties in well with her other public speeches and…[Read more]

    Naiya,
My first comment is purely aesthetic: make sure you save as pdf to get all the spacing/tabs/margins set so they won’t move around in various browsers or software. In general, you want to diversify your verb categories and lead with the strongest activities first (so “created” instead of repeating “developed”; leave “completed” or…[Read more]
