Anti Slavery Movement

The anti slavery can be described as anyone who does not support the idea of slavery. This page will discuss some of the arguments of the anti slavery movement. The movement was intended to stop slavery.  


There were two nationwide petition campaigns that kicked off the movement.William Wilberforce who was the leader of the campaign the petitions were made in the hopes to put pressure on Parliament to abolish the slave trade. 


In 1807 the anti-slavery movement went into a new phase in which the African Institution. The Institution, they work towards new legislation being enforced .


On March 25th 1807 the slave trade was abolished. 

Mary’s text allows followers of the anti slavery movement to strength their views on why slavery should be abolished. The text raises awareness to the ethical issues that are present in slavery during this time.
