Marymount B.L.O.G.S

This is the first post in a short series.  There are a number of things that are really neat about the DC region, Northern Virginia, and specifically Arlington.  The unique nature of the region means there is a lot of cuisine that is popular in the area and is either not available elsewhere in the country or is only available in a few certain regions.

Northern Virginia has some of the best BBQ in the country.  This, though, is not your standard pulled port and burnt ends.  (We have those places too.)  This is Korean BBQ.  This style uses cooking grills built in to the diner’s table.  There are various cuts of beef, pork, and chicken that have all been sliced thin to promote fast cooking.  This cooking is normally performed by the diners themselves.  Included with your selection of meats is banchan.  Banchan is a collection of small shared side dishes that are included regardless of what you order.  Korean BBQ is best shared with at least a small group.
