I call it my Eat.Pray.Love. trip.

On Saturday, Mar 8th we arrived at Sangster International Airport in Montego Bay.  A member of Praying Pelicans Missions greeted us just outside the airport with Jamaican patties. The veggie one – so.good.

Then we got on a bus and headed to the village of St Ann’s Bay where we stayed for the next six days.

St Ann’s Bay Baptist Church

We stayed at the St Ann’s Bay Baptist Church where five kind women cooked for us delicious breakfast and dinner.

Every morning we attended Mass at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. So.beautiful. I actually miss it.

During our stay we visited two infirmaries, a hospital, and a school.  we also spent two afternoon visiting the shut-ins – members of the parish, who had a disability or were ill and could not leave their homes to go to church. We told them about our trip, we sang, we prayed.  One of my favorite parts of the trip. They shared with us fresh fruits and snacks. We laughed and cried with them.

After spending three days at the school, reorganizing their library, teaching in the classrooms, and playing games outside, we had a hard time saying good-bye to the children.

Toward the end of the week we had a day off.  Our first stop was an open market in Ocho Rios.

The sales people were very hard to say NO to. 🙂

Next, we went to Dunn’s River Falls. We hiked the falls – yes, in the water, up against the current! Yes, water was cold. 🙂

The falls go straight into the naturally, we ended up at the beach.:)

I will keep my memories from Jamaica and the people there close to my heart.

Maybe I will go back one day.
