As a mental health counselor I have been trained to always, always plan time for self-care.

Especially when I am buried under assignments and personal commitments, I try really hard to find time for REST and FUN.

Isn’t it ironic how it is actually stressful to plan the time to.. relax? 🙂

Anyway,

Here are three of my favorite spots to enjoy with friends or alone.

Panoramic view of Harpers Ferry from Maryland Heights

A great hiking destination! The reward awaits across the river – a historic town with quaint lunch/dinner spots.

Biking is even more fun when you are riding along the gorgeous view of Potomac river and Washington DC.

You can stop for a break and watch the planes take off/land (depends on the direction of the wind).
