All the Small Things

My semester abroad is quickly coming to an end. It was as if in the blink of an eye everything has turned into memories. I am sad to be leaving, I feel like a part of me will always be left in Florence. It was tough at first, but I have learned how to adjust to a completely different life in Italy. Continue reading

Bittersweet

This past week I have been able to get back into the swing of school. My feelings have been up and down as we are quickly approaching the end of the semester. I am surely not ready to leave Florence, but I am more than thankful for this journey. I encourage everyone to take the opportunity to travel if it ever presents itself. You can read about new places and even see beautiful places on television, but absolutely nothing can replace the feeling you can get from traveling. Continue reading

Whirlwind Month

I am truly sorry I have been absent from my blog posts for a few weeks, but I am overly excited to share what I have been up to with you all! These past weeks almost feel like a blur due to my visitors as well as midterms. The week before spring break was designated completely to academics. I am taking five classes at LDM and had to be sure I was prepared for my midterms. I was completely relieved when all of my exams were over, and I had a huge treat waiting for me outside of the classroom! My mom, sister, and dear friend had landed in Florence the moment I stepped out of my last exam. Continue reading

Exploring Barcelona

I do attend lectures, but they would rather students venture out into Florence to see the famous sights in person rather than on screen. It’s awesome to walk into the museums as well as see breathtaking views and architecture, but once you know what you are looking at everything turns into a different experience. Continue reading

Adventure Makes Your Soul Rich

I have successfully finished my first week of classes here in Firenze at Lorenzo de’ Medici. What an awesome experience it has already been to receive a great education in another country. These classes have already elevated my study abroad experience. I am taking five courses including my italian course at LDM. I simply can’t pick just one specific course as my favorite because they all carry their own unique elements that excite me.

First Feelings of Italy

Firenze, I have made it to you after anxious months of waiting, and I couldn’t be more in love with your breathtaking city and everything you have to offer. The long flights and hours of traveling were worth the arrival and experiences that occurred within my first week. I found myself missing family and friends during my travels which blocked my viewpoints on the wonderful opportunity I was about to endure for the following four months ahead. Luckily, upon my arrival I was quickly refocused. Continue reading
