A nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting students ages 6-18 with their creative and expository writing skills, and to helping teachers inspire their students to write. Their services are structured around our understanding that great leaps in learning can happen with one-on-one attention and that strong writing skills are fundamental to future success.

Aspire!’s flagship Learning ROCKS! Program supports upper-elementary students’ general academic achievement and social-emotional development, placing a heavy emphasis on helping students to develop both their reading skills and a love of reading. 
Offers customized curricula, personalized attention and a wide variety of enrichment services for students from kindergarten through high school. C2’s tutoring services range from K to 12. They’ve helped variety of students succeed  with reading, writing, math,science & other subjects, as well as test prep including  TJ, SAT, plus study skills and college planning.
Each year MPA provides: 15 outstanding contemporary arts exhibitions that showcase the work of emerging and accomplished artists; more than 160 art courses and our Summer STEAM Camp, taught by the distinguished MPA faculty; our award winning ArtReach program, a partnership with the Fairfax County Public Schools, Fairfax County Community Centers, senior programs, and community organizations serving K-12 students, seniors, and people with special needs; and, MPAartfest, the annual outdoor fall festival of the visual arts.

Northern Virginia Magazine offers students and/or recent graduates the opportunity to get first-hand experience working at a magazine. Internship sessions run in the spring, summer and fall. GW Planet Forward identifies, celebrates and rewards ideas to solve global environmental challenges. Since 2009, Planet Forward has engaged new voices and brought their innovations to policy makers, academia, the private sector and the general public.
Established in 2011, the Shepherd Higher Education Consortium on Poverty unites nearly two dozen institutions to collaborate for an important venture in undergraduate and professional education. The member schools integrate rigorous classroom study of poverty with tailored and focused summer internships and co-curricular activities during the academic year. This combination, sustained over two or three years, enriches the education of students in a wide variety of majors and professional studies who intend many different career paths. The intent is to prepare students for a lifetime of professional, civic and political activity that will diminish poverty, drawing on a multitude of perspectives and initiatives.
