Save the date and participate in this year’s Homecoming, September 26-29th! The department of Literature and Languages will sponsor two events for seniors, graduate students, and English alumni at Homecoming this year. First, we will host a lecture from 4-5:30pm on Friday 9/27 titled “A Song for a finale: the encounter between music and narrative in Holocaust survivor testimonies” presented by Dr. Leah Wolfson of the Holocaust Museum. This lecture is funded by the Campus Outreach Lecture Program of the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum’s Center for Advanced Holocaust Studies.
Second, on Saturday, 9/28 from 12-1, please come to a bring-your-resume workshop for current students and alumni, titled, “What’s My Next Step?: Graduate School and Career Changes,” featuring MU English alumnus Jeb Butler, Director of Admissions at Columbia Law School and Carin Usrey from Career Services. Jeb and Carin will talk about how to build your digital brand via social networks and present yourself to graduate and professional schools, and also will offer individual feedback on resumes and career plans. This workshop will be a casual event, followed by an open house, so drop in and out while you attend the Homecoming Block Party. This event is in the Main House!
