English Majors and Minors to Give Final Presentations

Students in Dr. Howe’s EN200: Elements of Literary Study, the gateway course for our majors and minors, will be giving final presentations on their research essays Friday, December 12, from 3:00-5:30, in Gailhac 36. The presentations, on contemporary adaptations of fairy tales by Anne Sexton, Margaret Atwood, and Angela Carter, will range from analyses of postmodern narrative form in Atwood’s “Bluebeard’s Egg,” to fraudulent feminism in Carter’s “The Tiger’s Bride,” to adaptation as reinterpretation in Sexton’s “Little Red Riding Hood.” These presentations are open to the public, and I encourage you to attend–come support our majors and minors!
