Abigail Vázquez Rosario, a senior at Marymount studying Communication, shares about her experience working as a Marymount 2020 Summer Research Fellow.
Research fellows work with a faculty mentor on a research project and engage in weekly informative sessions with other fellows, faculty members, and researchers as part of the Fellows Program.
Abigail worked with the Chair of the Department of Communication, Dr. Kimberly Meltzer, on her project How Journalists Promote and Defend the Value of Journalism.
Dr. Kimberly Meltzer’s project focused on the challenges journalists and their news organizations face today from reputational and physical attacks, financial pressures, and the cultural, political, and public health turmoil of the pandemic, the protests for racial justice, and the upcoming elections.
Abigail shares that she enjoyed her experience working as a fellow and encourages other Marymount students to partake in this transformative experience.
Congratulations to Valeria, Noel, Ana, and Jeffrey for having completed their Fall 2020 internship!
